I desire to become the greatest physical educator that I can possibly be. I
want to be a teacher whom students enjoy being around, and want them
to think of Physical Education and Kinesiology as being fun, and enjoy
movement, play, and sport. By giving my students vision, (not only for
their healthy and active life-style), they will also have it for their individual
lives. I want to have an impact on students’ lives, even though this is
unusual for a Physical Educator to have this sort of lifelong impact. I want
to be a teacher that can interact not only with the students, but also with
the parents around me. I want to be an advocate for Physical Education in
my area, and develop appropriate curriculum for my school while working
with other teachers. My desires for being a teacher may seem beyond
reach, but I would rather put them high, and began to set greater
standards for the field of Physical Education.
I enjoy working with the whole child, and I feel that Physical Education is
the greatest means to teaching the whole child. Within Physical
Education, I am able to meet the students Cognitive, Affective, and
Psychomotor needs all within the comfort of my daily instruction. I have
passion for both children, of all ages, and for my field. Personally, I love
sports, movement, health, and being outdoors. I think this adds great
value that my I teach the very thing I am passionate about.
My personal mission as a Physical Educator is to impact each of my
student’s lives as they are learning in my class. By teaching Physical
Education, I am able to reach the whole child: Cognitively - their
understanding and their thinking process; Affectively – how they feel
about themselves, and how they interact with others; and their
Psychomotor skills – helping them to develop lifelong healthy habits and

the desire to be physically active. Personally, I feel in no other content area can a student be
reached on all three domains as effectively as they can in Physical Education. So, it is my goal
to make sure that I facilitate a learning environment for my students to be given the opportunity
to grow in these three areas.
I feel that it is my goal to make sure that I am a teacher that my student’s remember. It is my
desire to be not only a person who instructs, but a person who can also mentor my students. It
is my goal to capture their hearts, and in doing so become a role model for them. I hope that in
the future as my student’s look back on their lives they will remember my class, and somehow
use those memories to better themselves. They can look back to a time when they were
believed in, cared for, and thought of. As a Physical Educator, I hope to accomplish this difficult
task.
